based in Kirkwall, Orkney

 You will work closely with third sector organisations, communities, and partner organisations in Orkney to identify needs and develop and deliver appropriate support services. These can range from advice on legal structures to governance and funding sources.

Although you should ideally have a background in community development, business or a related discipline - full training will be provided. The ability to demonstrate an innovative and proactive approach is desirable

based in Kirkwall, Orkney

The Project Support Worker will work closely with the Co-ordinator to devise and deliver a range of individual learning opportunities and volunteer placements. You should have the ability to relate to young people and understand the issues that affect them and a flexible and sensitive approach to dealing with individual needs.

You must be flexible, motivated and have the ability to work collaboratively within a small staff team. A current UK driving licence and transport is essential for this role. This role is funded until March 2020, however funding applications are pending.

VAO’s Adult Befriending Service enables older people in Orkney to maintain their independence and remain living in their own homes for longer. VAO wishes to appoint a development worker to help to deliver this service.

The Adult Befriending Co-ordinator is responsible for the delivery and development of the Adult Befriending Service in Orkney. You will help to recruit, train and support volunteer befrienders to deliver practical support to older people in Orkney and to develop and facilitate one to one, group and intergenerational activities throughout Orkney. You will have experience in management, supervision of volunteers and you will have a sensitive approach to the needs of vulnerable older people.
