Referral Criteria at a glance

Would you or someone you know benefit from the Befriending Service?  

We accept referrrals for:

  • Older people who live in their own home; who are isolated and finding it difficult to maintain independence in later life; people with/without family; bereaved people; people in poor physical/emotional health; people with dementia
  • Older people who are carers
  • Older people in the outer isles (geographically isolated); people affected by rural poverty, lack of public transport; people distanced from family
  • Older people with learning disabilities; people with mental health concerns; people affected by stigma
