A COMMUNITY SAFEGUARDING PROGRAMME
Prevent is about safeguarding people and communities from the threat of terrorism. Prevent is 1 of the 4 elements of CONTEST, the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy. It aims to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP)

WRAP is a free specialist workshop, designed by HM Government, to give you an introduction to the Prevent strategy and an individual’s role in safeguarding vulnerable people. The WRAP training is for front line services who access people’s homes/ meet them face to face.  This session takes about 2 hours and the co-ordinator for this training is Alison Skea, Learning & Development Manager, Human Resources, Corporate Services, Orkney Island Council. If you as an organisation receive a grant or SLA from OIC, then as a condition of this grant or SLA, your relevant staff or volunteers should undertake the WRAP training.
