Social Workers help children and their families who are in need or at risk, working closely with teachers, health professionals, police and other agencies to make sure that children are safe and well. Social workers will support children to make sense of and cope with difficult family situations. If you are worried about a child or young person who may be at risk of harm, you can call us for advice and help. If it's not possible for children to safely remain living with their families, we can provide foster, adoptive and residential care. If you have to attend a Children's Hearing then a Social Worker will support you and make sure decisions are made in your best interests and that your views are heard. If you are adopted, in care or have left care, you will be entitled to additional support and assistance from our services. If adults are interested in becoming foster or adoptive carers then we provide services to assess, approve and support you and any child in your care.
