Orkney Street Pastors provide assistance to revellers in need due to excessive consumption of alcohol. Street Pastors patrol the streets of Kirkwall on a Saturday night from midnight to about 3am in teams of at least three fully trained volunteers. We typically talk to revellers, sweep up any broken glass, dispose of discarded bottles and glasses and assist revellers, where appropriate, with guidance to transport home. We give out flip-flops to females who are unable to walk safely on very high-heeled shoes.
