We are a " not for profit " Community Interest Company , registered in Scotland: SC676895 promoting Therapeutic gardening within the community.
Our aim is to pull together people with disabilities, whether it be physical, mental ill health or learning disabilities by facilitating work placements, training and interactive gardening sessions. Also to include people who face significant barriers in achieving access to employment by promoting therapeutic gardening and horticultural skills to build and promote self-confidence.
Through our knowledge of horticulture, we aim to provide the Orkney community with quality grown young veg plants; ornamental summer bedding; perennial plants; and shrubs - all grown from seed and local cuttings here at our base at Tankerness House Garden greenhouses.
Any surplus that is generated from trading would be reinvested back into the community and also used to help support local community projects .
In addition , we aim to maintain the historic community gardens at Tankerness House in the centre of Kirkwall to high standard for the whole of Orkney community and tourists to appreciate and enjoy 365 days of the year and to offer free friendly advise as we go about our daily work .
