Our Wellbeing Coordinators help to develop new projects like community pantries, cafes, health walks, chair based dance sessions or daily living aids libraries. They can also connect you with services and find people and groups in the community that might be able to improve your wellbeing

The Island Wellbeing Project is a partnership between us, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Orkney Health and Care and the Development Trusts of Hoy, Sanday, Shapinsay, Stronsay, Westray and Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre. Our definition of 'wellbeing' is very broad and includes health, economic, social and place wellbeing.

On each of the islands, the Development Trusts employ a Community Wellbeing Coordinator. Their role is to support the development of community-led initiatives and provide signposting support services. This dual role enables coordinators to respond to the immediate needs of the community, whilst developing long-term capacity.

If you live in one of the islands and need support, or have an idea for a community project, the contact details for the Community Wellbeing Coordinators are below. They work part time so there may a short delay before they can get back to you.
