Finn* was becoming increasingly isolated from his peers. He was struggling to attend school and was spending most of his time indoors on his games console. This was causing friction at home with his parent, and concern from his teachers at school.

Finn was matched to Murray* and they immediately struck up a friendship. In the first 6 months they had taken part in a variety of different activities such as swimming, eating out at cafes, going to the fireworks, soft play, visiting Fernvalley Wildlife Centre and baking. Murray says:

Getting to try new things with my young person, and seeing them grow in confidence and as a person has been really rewarding.

Murray is a great role model for Finn and by introducing him to these new experiences he is helping increase Finn's confidence, self-worth, feelings of happiness and providing a consistent presence in his life. They are only at the start of their befriending journey, but we can’t wait to see how it continues to grow and develop and see what else they get up to together.
