Sporting Memories Clubs create a space where older people (aged 50+) can feel appreciated and share their passion for sport. Club sessions are open to all members of the local community regardless of whether you love sport or not.
Sporting Memories Clubs offer inclusive activities which are designed to improve physical and mental wellbeing. The ultimate aim is to help members to find friendships and to avoid feelings of isolation and loneliness. Sporting Memories is working with Orkney Islands Council to set up clubs in Orkney starting with their Kirkwall club with a second being planned for Stromness.
Ahead of first Kirkwall session taking place later next month, Sporting Memories are inviting anyone interested in taking part, either as a member or a volunteer, to join them at a taser session on Tuesday 25 March at 6:00pm in the St Magnus Suite at The Pickaquoy Centre.
