With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Sporting Memories will be collecting memories from across 5 decades of International Island Games history. They are inviting those with any connections to the games from the past 40 years of competition, to share their memories creating a treasure trove of stories and the curation of a brand new online archive.

A website has been created to allow people to submit their memories. Sporting Memories have also created a flyer with information about the process.

As well as collecting short stories, Sporting Memories are also looking to conduct longer interviews to capture more in-depth oral histories from past participants, officials, administrators or family members. If you know anyone who would like to share their story, please email contact@sportingmemories.uk.

Longer interviews will be conducted online or in person with a local volunteer. If you are interested in becoming one of their Oral Histories Volunteers, you can find out more by visiting our Volunteering Opportunities section.

More information about the Island Games project can be found on the Sporting Memories website.
