Voluntary Health Scotland recently released 4 short films celebrating and championing the work of Community Link Workers and their role in building healthier, more connected communities.
The films highlight the benefit of Community Link Workers from different viewpoints:

- Patient Stories - this film looks at the service from the patient's point of view. Hear from those who have directly benefitted.
- Community Link Worker' role in primary care (GP interviews) - in this film GP's share their experience of working with Community Link Workers and discuss their role in primary care.
- Scottish Community Link Worker Network, an overview of social prescribing - this film highlights the network, the role it plays as well as providing a context for social prescribing.
Neil Gray, Cabinet Secretary for Health has welcomed the launch of the films. He said:
I’m delighted that the Scottish Community Link Worker Network is launching these videos that share powerful first-hand accounts of the positive impacts that Community Link Workers have on the individuals that they support and within the general practice teams that they are part of.
In Orkney, VAO is funded by Orkney Health and Social Care (OHAC) to support the Community Link Practitioner Service team. They work out of, and can be contacted through local GP practices. You can find out more about the service in our Projects section.
