The Society organises the annual West Mainland Flower, Produce and Industrial Show. This show allows people who live in West Mainland to show their horticultural, produce, baking and confectionary, knitting and handicraft skills. The aim is to keep traditional skills alive, as well as encouraging people to try new skills. Any permanent residents in Orkney's West Mainland can enter by joining the Horticultural Society on Show day. This costs �2.00 for adults and 50p for children. There are separate categories for adults and children. The annual show is a varied, interesting and friendly event and new exhibitors are always welcome.
