The West Mainland Horticultural Society organises the annual West Mainland Flower, Produce and Industrial show. The purpose of the show is to allow people who live in West Mainland to show their horticultural, produce, baking and confectionary, knitting and handicraft skills. The aim is to keep traditional skills alive as well as encouraging people to try new skills. Anyone who permanently resides in Orkney's West Mainland can enter the show by joining the Horticultural Society. The cost of joining is £2.00 for adults and 50p for children. There are separate categories for adults and children. The annual show is a varied, interesting and friendly event and new exhibitors are always welcome.
